Specific duties:

  • Maintain, configure, update, and proactively optimize Genebanks systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Design and apply testing and validation procedures to ensure the reliability and functionality of implemented software systems.
  • Develop and update reports and metrics using Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
  • Provide support for the installation, configuration, and testing of label design and printing software, ensuring integration with existing systems.

Provide first-level support:

  • Understand and define the required infrastructure for the operation of the technological ecosystem.
  • Identify application failures to report and/or resolve them.
  • Configure peripheral devices (printers connected to GGCE).
  • Provide training and technical support to the entire germplasm bank team in the use of the information system during operation.
  • Collaborate with other CGIAR Genebanks to implement the best practices in information management.
  • Generate documentation related to practices, supports, and infrastructure of the technological ecosystem.
  • Gather and present user requirements to the CGIAR focal group.
  • Provide support for mobile applications developed in Android connected to GGCE.
  • Meet the objectives determined by your management.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a professional degree in systems engineering or software engineering
  • The candidate must have Minimum 3 years of experience in leading data science teams, preferably in an agricultural or environmental context.
  • Intermediate level of English language (English test will be administered; candidate must score a minimum of B2 as per CEFR).
  • The candidate must have knowledge in programming languages such as:

Mandatory:

  • SQL language for databases, preferably in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • UML diagramming.
  • Proficiency in Linux-based systems for software solution management.
  • Experience using command lines, scripts (Bash, Python), and configuring services in Linux environments.
  • Consumption of APIs and software integration methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience with Docker for deploying and managing containerized applications.
