Job Description:We are seeking a Deposits Compliance Manager to join our financial services client located in Downtown Vancouver. As the Deposits Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the bank’s deposit operations comply with regulatory requirements as mandated by OSFI, FCAC, and FINTRAC. This role involves overseeing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and implementing policies to safeguard the institution from regulatory risks associated with deposit-taking activities.
- Ensure the bank’s compliance with OSFI guidelines, FCAC consumer protection regulations, and FINTRAC requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments related to deposit operations.
- Implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues to senior management.
- Perform internal audits of deposit-related activities to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and examinations.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees are aware of their compliance responsibilities and understand relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to OSFI, FCAC, and FINTRAC as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and communications.
- Oversee the resolution of customer complaints related to deposit products in accordance with FCAC guidelines.
- Ensure timely and effective handling of issues to maintain customer trust and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with various departments, including Legal, Risk, and Operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and participate in industry forums and discussions.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role within the banking sector.
- In-depth knowledge of OSFI, FCAC, and FINTRAC regulations and guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the banking industry.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in using compliance monitoring tools and software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
