Job Description:Grade UE07: £39,347.00 to £46,974.00 Per Annum.Corporate Services Group / Estates / Maintenance Services.Open Ended Contract – Permanent.Full Time – 35 hours per week.The Opportunity:Maintenance Services employ a mix of circa 100 multidisciplined trades, semi-skilled, technical and administrative staff who are responsible for the planning, organising, service and repair of over 350 core buildings within the University of Edinburgh estate.We now require a Deputy Maintenance Services Manager to manage the reactive operations within Maintenance Services. You will have direct line management responsibility for Area Team Leaders who are responsible for managing multidisciplined trades teams across the Estate.You will use performance management data to focus on the effective workload management of circa 50,000 reactive and planned work requests per annum. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding maintenance services standards and performance in line with current Service Level Agreements.We are looking for an experienced individual with a Maintenance/FM background and who has managed multiple teams whilst encouraging staff development. You will be a strong team-player who is capable of working both in a team and on your own and preferably have financial/budget management experience.Applicants should be competent using Microsoft Office, including Excel & Outlook and be able to interpret and present different types of data, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, whilst working efficiently to deadlines. Previous experience of using a CAFM system would also be beneficial.Our ideal candidate will be reliable, articulate and a highly motivated individual with superb interpersonal skills with a willingness to embrace new challenges.   • Extensive maintenance or facilities management experience. Relevant technical qualification with evidence of managerial experience.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Experience of managing operational performance, establishing/delivering relevant KPI’s and targets, producing related reports as required.
  • A comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory regulations relating to Building Maintenance.
  • Sound practical knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements, and the consequence on non-compliance.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with work planning and estimating experience.
