WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU

What you will do

  • Develop and manage CI/CD processes for different types of applications and automate as many processes as possible, based upon standardized frameworks and maturity models
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance services on AWS.
  • Create and maintain a virtual NOC for the core production environment, and ensure SLAs and application uptime (and related metrics) are tracked, maintained and reported on.
  • Manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes, including Jenkins and Kubernetes.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code methodologies to manage infrastructure and system configuration.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to understand and address code deployment needs and enable developer self-service models.
  • Act as a gatekeeper and co-approver of changes to our production system (and its dependencies).
  • Participate in incident response and resolution.
  • Ensure that alerting mechanisms are in place to address any unplanned downtime or critical issues in a timely fashion.
  • Review, coordinate and prioritize project tasks and requests for the team, effectively managing stakeholder requests from Development, Security and IT/Infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members on development and operations.
  • Document and design various processes, updating existing processes, and improving the performance of existing systems.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience as a DevOps/DevSecOps/GitOps Engineer or similar engineering role in a corporate environment
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Control Tower and CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins and CI/CD
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Understanding and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Strong experience in administration of Windows and Linux servers
  • Advanced knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell, Python, Perl, or Shell.
  • Proficiency with network protocols, firewalls, routing, and load balancing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mentality.
  • At least 5 years of corporate experience, including management or team leadership duties
