They will primarily support all aspects of digital content creation, across platforms (website, newsletter, social media etc), with some work for the print magazine and its projects where needed. This is an opportunity for someone looking for a valuable first step on a picture desk in an historic publication, and play a part in its growth digitally.The successful candidate will be self-motivated, efficient, resourceful and enthusiastic, capable of undertaking extensive picture research to illustrate both digital and print features, working to tight deadlines and to a brief.An ability or interest in shooting video footage for social media would be beneficial, but not essential.What will you be doing?Picture research for House & Garden’s digital desk, across interiors, garden, travel and food.Quickly sourcing images from image agencies, and from press contacts including ensuring images are cleared for online usage.Undertaking picture research using Condé Nast’s archives and DAM systems, including for print as needed.Developing an in-depth knowledge of the House and Garden website in order to identify and pull suitable images from existing content to illustrate new commentary stories.Mining H&G print shoots for unused images (‘overs’) that could have life online.Acquiring and logging rights clearances to publish non-commissioned images.Uploading images from print pieces cleared for online usage.Using your excellent working knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite image apps, as needed, including using InDesign to create text overlays for Instagram posts.Providing ad-hoc administrative support to the Photography Director as required.There may be the opportunity to gain experience shooting for the magazine and online where appropriate, depending on skills.Who you are:A self-motivated, inquisitive approach to the roleKeen to develop strong research skills across many genresA good communicator, confident to liaise with picture agencies and across the world and with a wide number of brands and PR companies.Has demonstrable awareness of the importance of copyright and usage permissions, and the tenacity to chase clearances when needed.A team player who would cope well with tight deadlines.Have a strong interest in the subject matters we cover and an eagerness to immerse yourself in the House & Garden world.Skill in photography and an ability to shoot engaging social video is desirable.Where will you be?This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our beautiful Adelphi office, with breathtaking views over the Thames, and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand.What benefits do we offer?25 days holiday and extra days of annual leave life events like moving house or wanting to volunteer with a charityHybrid working and core hoursCompetitive pension schemeBupa Private HealthcareSeason ticket loansCycle to workEmployee Assistance programmeBring your dog to workA wide variety of wellness benefits including gym discountsDiscounts and Magazine SubscriptionsEmployee Resource Groups to provide a platform for employees to identify shared objectives, exchange ideas, and work on community priorities for our global workforceCondé Nast Learning Hub where you’ll find you’ll find all Condé Nast-developed learning courses and trainings, and over 16,000+ courses in seven local languagesWhat happens next?If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply below, and we will review your application as soon as possible.
