We are looking for a Director Accessibility for Early in Profession Audiences focused on accelerating disabled talent into the workplace and methodically embedding accessibility into classroom learning to accelerate accessibility skills across the industry. You work both internally and externally to build accessibility skills and accelerate disabled talent transitioning from the classroom to workplace.Do you want to play a key role in improving the pipeline of disability talent globally across all disability segments? 2 in 3 teachers believe accessible learning tools are essential for achieving educational equity. - Disability Pipeline: Focus on early in profession audience identifying barriers and issues within the educational pipeline, and put action plan in place to accelerate disabled talent from the classroom to the workforce in US, UK, FR, Germany, India.
- Accessibility as an accredited course to prepare students for the workforce: Partner with Microsoft Engineering, US Accreditation Boards and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) including Teach Access to add accessibility to Computer Science and Engineering curriculum at universities. Build and integrate courseware based on Microsoft Evolution Model.
- Accessibility features for students: Drive awareness of Microsoft accessibility features for the classroom with policymakers and advocacy organizations for classrooms to accelerate adoption for disabled students.
- Data led effort: Identify and use data to drive business case and focus efforts on key areas where program can remove barriers for early in profession talent and accelerate accessibility adoption.
- AI: Build partnerships that can leverage AI and/or technology enabling students’ transition and success in the workplace.
- Build through partnership with non-profit, advocacy and policy organizations including Teach Access, WA Neurodiversity Project.org, National Science Foundation (NSF)and international programs focused on early in profession disabled talent (ASEAN)
Embody our &Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, project management, process management, process improvement
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience working with universities and/or non-profit and advocacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating across NGO, educational institutions, and advocacy communities to deliver solutions while managing through virtual teams.
- Engineering expertise with ability to work with engineering, nonprofit and academic leadership externally and across Microsoft.
- Experience driving strategic vision and leading large projects that scale at the intersection of accessibility and the disability community.
- Disciplined program management and cross-group skills, including the ability to get what you need from others while working through their own priorities.
- Ability to implement both strategy and tactical needs of the business.
- Experience influencing executives (and others) to achieve common goals.
Business Program Management IC6 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 – $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 – $299,400 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
