Work Model: HybridPosition SummaryAs Director, Biometrics you will be responsible for guiding the product vision of our biometric solutions, aligning it with business objectives, and ensuring the successful development and market performance of CBN’s biometric product portfolio.Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Vision
- Define and refine the product vision to align with business objectives
- Develop comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps
- Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success
- Create and maintain business plans, including pricing strategies
- Make buy/build/partner decisions for product development
- Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct extensive market research to identify customer needs, trends, and opportunities
- Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market conditions
- Perform competitive analysis to assess strengths and weaknesses of rival products
- Conduct win/loss analysis of product performance
- Product Development Oversight
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize product features
- Oversee product development, working closely with product owners and development teams
- Evaluate product prototypes and provide feedback
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to guide product enhancements
- Ensure customer feedback is incorporated into product planning and development
- Ensure quality standards are met throughout the development process
- Stakeholder Management
- Engage with executives and other leaders to advocate for product priorities
- Secure necessary resources for product initiatives
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with product vision
- Develop and present business cases to justify product initiatives
- Communicate progress toward key metrics to company stakeholders
- Go-to-Market Strategy
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop effective strategies
- Define product positioning for all markets and buyer types
- Assist in creating and approving final marketing and go-to-market plans
- Determine optimal distribution strategies
- Innovation and Growth
- Seek new market opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competence
- Identify and validate market problems for both existing and future customers
- Classify features according to strategic goals
- Assist with quarterly planning and assign objectives to Product teams
- Leadership and People Management
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members and develop future product leaders within the organization
- Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams

QualificationsKnowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Computer Science (or similar fields)
- Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) is an asset
- Knowledge of the following:
- Product development methodologies and practices
- Product road-mapping and feature prioritization
- IT systems (hardware, software, data, network, etc.)
- Agile development methodology
- 10+ years of experience in an IT related position (software development, systems analyst, product manager, etc.)

- Proficiency in MS 0365
- Proficiency in MS Project

Mandatory Requirements

- Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
