What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Regulatory Management, Business Architecture and Trade Control group, the successful applicant will provide management support to Global Regulatory Management, Business Architecture, and Trade Control teams.
The role provides the opportunity for working with a broad spectrum of teams to ensure pro-active management, issue resolution for infrastructure partners, driving forwards initiatives, and contributing to the ideation and innovative solutioning in the early stages of business vision.
How You’ll Succeed
Management Support Activities – Work with the business and Global Regulatory Management, Business Architecture, and Trade Control teams to develop: Senior Management and Board Presentations, Presentations for onsite/offsite conferences, Ad-hoc presentations. Provide detail and team performance to front office and other business lines in collaboration with internal partners. Ability to look strategically across teams for areas of opportunities for synergies and operational efficiencies. Support LOB on CIBC-wide project implementation, including the development of policy / procedures, development of project plans, business requirements, executive presentation and training materials. Work to develop management support metrics for the teams e.g. KPI’s
Relationship Management – Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with counterparts across business units within CIBC that allows for the execution of efficient pro-active change. Accessible to the business throughout the day to actively respond to information. Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently
Strategic & Business Planning – Assist the business in identifying opportunities for improvement and business planning. Partner with infrastructure groups to develop and implement strategic and business plans and projects. Project manage new initiatives including Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs)
Governance & Compliance – Oversee governance and control functions/issues on behalf of the business. Ensure compliance with Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs) with respect to new initiatives. Support execution of new contracts and agreements with vendors and partners in collaboration with Corporate Services, Legal, and other internal stakeholders. Collaborate with internal partners to set up or remove access to CIBC systems as necessary. Complete and attest to CIBC governance functions –User System Access, Contract Review, etc. Team with internal partners in the implementation of new compliance and governance requirements. Coordinate and respond to auditor/regulator requests, findings and reports. Assist in the investigation, documentation, and reporting on incidents and errors. Design and implement improvements to internal procedures and practices, and ensure that an effective and documented internal control structure is in place as evidenced by policies and procedures specific to the individual business activities. Work with key infrastructure partners to ensure operational issues impacting the business are resolved
Who You Are
Education You’ve Completed. Equivalent to University degree in Business Management/accounting designation
Industry Experience. Strong knowledge of Financial Products (products and processes) with a minimum of 5-7 years of working experience in Capital Markets; Project management skills would be an asset.
Communication. Able to very quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the maintenance of internal processes and client relationships. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical. Excellent working knowledge of PC applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Detail Oriented. Excellent analytical and conceptual skills. Efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities on simultaneous projects.
