Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As Director, Corporate Client Group – Finance (CCGF), you are part of the mid-market Corporate Banking team and play a key role in the realization of Corporate Client Group (CCG) objectives through the structuring, delivery and management of the bank debt of a targeted customer base. We target loan origination in the Canadian mid-market, including large Canadian subsidiaries of foreign multinationals, private and small cap public Canadian companies, and are responsible for meeting annually established targets for loan derived revenues and returns by providing advice to our partners on optimizing the use of lending in connection with broader RBC relationship goals.What will you do?Manage a team of Vice President(s) and Associate(s) in support of CCG relationship managers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions, including credit submissions and transaction presentationsSupport CCG relationship managers in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clientsRegular interactions with clients managed by the team; attend to client asks requiring credit support and offering guidance and advice in a professional mannerEngage with internal RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, RBC Investments, Capital Markets, specialized teams in Commercial Financial Services (leasing, trade finance etc.), Personal Banking, and othersWork with Group Risk Management to ensure proper alignment with credit processes and client expectations Provide research, analysis, and data (market, industry, client, and competitor) to support CCG advice on the optimal amount of bank debt required to meet strategic objectives with each client relationshipTake part in the national team of CCG Finance underwriters committed to the delivery of quality credit products to RBC clients and targetsProvide regular analysis on the managed team’s portfolio; to Managing Director CCG Finance and other CCG stakeholders to drive risk and return decisions associated with loan transactions contemplated as part of client strategiesWhat do you need to succeed?Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or FinanceStrong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statementsWork experience in corporate lending/corporate financeKnowledge of credit metrics, credit structuring and the capability to work through Loan Agreements and other legal documentsTrained in credit and accounting with an ability to manage complex conceptsStrong skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to source data/researchProfessional oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail in both written and financial workExperience in recruiting, training, managing, and developing a team of high performing credit professionalsAbility to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities while working on multiple projectsWell organized and able to set priorities and devote appropriate attention to each task managed by the teamMBA, CPA or CFA preferredWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
