What you’ll be doing

As the Director, Credit and Operational Oversight, you will be responsible for leading, guiding and supporting a team of Manager Advisory Services, who lead teams of Financial Services Associates (FSA’s) that provide lending and non-lending administrative support to Business Advisors and directly to Business Banking clients. You will be accountable for the team’s administrative and high quality client service support to the frontline and the clients with specialized knowledge in business credit, cash management services, trade finance or other areas identified to meet business banking client needs (generally defined as credit size between $100k-$1.5MM or deposits greater than $250k). While reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Banking, you will also work closely with the frontline Business Banking Team Leaders and other internal CIBC Infrastructure groups in monitoring the credit and operational metrics of the national business, developing service level efficiencies and maximizing overall productivity.

How you’ll succeed

Operational excellence – Develop and maintain a strong support model between the frontline, administrative and infrastructure teams in Business Banking and across CIBC. Ensure national oversight and monitoring of credit and operational metrics. Conduct necessary review and report on CASA, AIM, FATES, LDD, MMR, OICC and DOLs to ensure items are minimized and handled in accordance with prescribed policy, procedures and guidelines

People leadership – Develop a strong culture to influence employee retention, focused on our key values – trust, teamwork and accountability. Build team and individual capabilities by providing leadership and coaching, in addition to other development opportunities such as special projects and training. Proactively manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance

Collaboration – Regular contact and collaboration with direct reports and frontline leadership teams, Business Banking Sales and Support team (BBSS) and the Business Client Centre, and various additional CIBC partners
