Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Lead a transformative role in shaping the RBC WM data governance and quality management landscape. Drive strategic initiatives, enhance data quality, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Implement robust data governance principles and leverage advanced tools to ensure data integrity and support business objectives. This pivotal role advances the RBC Wealth Management data capabilities, providing meaningful insights, and driving value for the business through a deeper understanding of data.What will you do?

  • Lead Data Governance Strategy & Execution: Advance data governance principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Define and implement a Data Quality (DQ) scorecard that provides meaningful insights for the Wealth Management (WM) Line of Business (LOB) and establish specific metrics or KPIs to measure data quality success.
  • Collaborate with Chief Data Office: Standardize architectural/infrastructural solutions and define the approach and roadmap for organizing work required for each WM LOB/region.
  • Execute Data Quality Strategy: Own end-to-end execution of key DQ reporting and control processes related to critical data and processes.
  • Develop Data Quality Reports: Create DQ reports to flag data exceptions and enable remediation, leveraging them as controls to ensure correct execution of business processes and 2nd Line of Defense (LoD) governance reporting.
  • Implement Data Governance Tools: Drive the deployment, adoption, and management of enterprise data governance tools, ensuring scalable and flexible architectural solutions.
  • Integrate Risk Management: Incorporate risk management practices into data governance and quality strategies to proactively identify and mitigate potential data-related risks.
  • Promote Growth and Innovation: Foster an innovation mindset within the team, optimize processes with new ideas, and establish a structured career development program with clear pathways for progression and skill enhancement.

What do you need to succeed?Must have:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead and advance data governance principles, policies, and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to define and implement data quality scorecards and metrics, driving value through a deeper understanding of data.
  • Technical Expertise: Deploy and adopt data governance tools and infrastructure, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
  • Data Quality Management: Execute data quality reporting and control processes, developing reports to flag exceptions and enable remediation.
  • Risk Management: Integrate risk management practices into data governance and quality strategies to proactively identify and mitigate potential data-related risks.
  • Innovation & Growth: Foster a culture of innovation within the team, optimizing processes and exploring new ideas and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
