OverviewAs a member of the global finance management team the Director of Finance – Global Shared Services is a strategic role responsible for the leadership, management, and analysis of Cook Medical’s financial operations and accounting processes. The Director will provide financial leadership for transactional and operational accounting activities within the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Travel Expenses and G/L Management areas for Global Finance. Responsibilities also include the oversight and improvement of processes, controls and policies.Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of 10 Managers/Coordinators and approximately 75+ employees located in Ireland, the US and APAC.
  • Provide overall financial leadership to the global AR, AP, TE and GL Shared Services Finance Team and build strong working relationships to support cross functional teams and drive key global initiatives. This includes partnering with cross functional teams responsible for P2P, O2C, general ledger management and travel services and management.
  • Develop a best-in-class global shared services Finance team responsible for AR, AP, TE and GL by providing guidance, training and mentorship to a diverse team of finance professionals.
  • Ensure the team meets or exceeds all annual targeted KPIs and budgetary requirements.
  • Understand and oversee processes in AP, AR, TE and GL.
  • Harmonise policies, procedures and tools across Cook’s global teams, while implementing cost effective best practices and automation.
  • Ensure proper internal controls in respect to P2P, O2C and TE business cycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement relating to processes, financial systems and system utilisation within P2P and O2C, GL Management and TE areas.
  • Provide input and insights to overall Global Finance Department’s goals and direction.
  • Model the Cook Medical culture and values, apply inclusive change management processes and foster a strong and positive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with Ethics & Compliance and Purchasing teams to safeguard Quality and Compliance Policies.
  • Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.

Qualifications

  • Relevant professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Significant experience managing a portfolio of projects at a senior level.
  • Strategic acumen and an understanding of continuous improvement methodology.
  • Knowledge of and experience in latest technology and systems implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate financial information in an effective and concise manner.
  • Ability to drive to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Self-starter with the ability to self-motivate and self-manage.
  • Ability to work in fluid global work environment and willingness and availability to travel as required.
