This role is an important role on the institutional business development team and also works with CIBC Private Wealth Management channels: CIBC Private Investment Counsel, CIBC Wood Gundy and Private Banking in support of Indigenous investment opportunities.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Location is flexible between Montreal and Toronto.How you’ll succeedClient engagement – You will be a subject matter expert and have extensive knowledge and experience supporting Indigenous communities.Relationship building – You will have existing relationships with Indigenous communities and strong business development skills/relationship management skills to build out relationships across Canada. Regularly attend Indigenous and multi-employer conferences and industry events as a representative of CIBC Asset Management and to build new relationships.Collaborate – Engage with key stakeholders across the organization in support of Indigenous clients: CIBC Private Wealth Management, The Indigenous Markets Team withing CIBC Commercial Banking and other key stakeholders across CIBC. Work with partners within Private Wealth Management on Request for Proposals (RFP) and informal proposals for Indigenous investment opportunities.Projects – Lead projects related to supporting our Indigenous clients: Reporting, presentation materials, marketing collateral.Leveraging technology – Manage the RFP database and content related to our Indigenous clients and prospects.Who you areYou can demonstrate 5 + years of investment experience, preferably working directly with Indigenous and multi-employer clients and institutions with a proven ability to function in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines. Experience working with multi-employer pension plans is an asset.You’re a certified professional. Portfolio Manager license (Associate Advising Representative or Advising Representative), CAIA, CFP, CFA Designation and or currently pursuing the designation, and or CIM completed (CIM has to be active) will be an asset. 4 years of investment experience is a mandatory requirement for licensing purposes.You have well-developed verbal, written and presentations skills.You’re passionate about people.
