Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Direct Investing is looking for a Director of Initiatives and Implementation to join the technology and operations group within DI. As Director, you’ll have significant accountability for material P&L impact on a large and rapidly growing business. Leading a team of product managers, you will create/oversee/implement changes across our entire operational backbone, delivering platform changing capabilities to the market that will delight our clients and transform how we serve them. Holding responsibility for both our cost and 3rd party portfolio, you’ll help decide who we partner with and why as we consistently assess our portfolio.What will you do?Identify, evaluate and oversee the implementation of transformational RBC Direct Investing (DI) business initiatives related to the DI Contact Centre, Wealth Management Operations and trade order infrastructure to maximize business efficiency and opportunitiesManage a team of Operations Product owners as they deliver impactful quick wins and large changes that directly impacts the DI P&LSupport the development, socialization and execution of a multi year strategic roadmaps across Wealth Management Operations, Contact Center Operations, and Trading OperationsManage, report, and drive opportunities to transform the entire cost portfolio across DI from forecast to actualsOwn multiple material third party relationships that are critical to the Direct Investing platform in areas such as market data, technology capabilities, etc.Act as primary liaison with other functional area heads including Advice & Contact Centres, Wealth Management and Banking business leaders for cross business project initiatives including negotiation of cost allocation for the cross functional investmentsDevelop and execute action plans to support business priorities related to cost containment and reduction, operational effectiveness, and the leveraging of cross-channel opportunitiesBe the primary business owner and author of Project Approval Requests (PARs), Supplier Risk Management Assessments (SRMAs), Processing Activity Risk Assessments (PARAs) and other required risk and/or operating controls for projects and processes anchored across LOBsWhat do you need to succeed?Must haves:Demonstrated experience in leading and managing initiatives across functional groupsProven ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with high quality resultsDemonstrated experience working with a P&L and understanding different drivers of NIE (allocated vs direct)Ability to interface and influence all levels of management across the organization including executivesStrong leadership skills with the ability to create and manage vendor relationships, direct and indirect staff, external consultants, and contract staff, as neededExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation (PPT and Excel comfort is a must) skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills; innovative and creative thinkingNice-to-have:Ability to manage the full life cycle of projectsRegulatory Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Management operations experience and/or relevant industry certifications.Solid understanding of the concepts, tools, and research relating to equity markets, bond markets, mutual fund trading;In-depth understanding of RBC DI systems and their interdependenciesWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
