About the Opportunity

  • Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable/procurement department: This includes managing vendor bills, ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and timely to maintain strong vendor relationships. Ensure that all invoices are reviewed, approved, and processed according to established policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions.
  • Manage a team of approximately 10 finance professionals: You will provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to a team of finance professionals. This includes setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance reviews. You will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment where individuals can thrive and contribute their best work.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures: You will ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX). This includes establishing and maintaining internal controls, documenting processes, and staying up-to-date on the latest accounting pronouncements and regulatory changes.
  • Oversee the month-end close process: You will ensure that the month-end close process is completed accurately and timely. This includes reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial schedules as needed. You will also work closely with other departments to ensure that all necessary information is provided for a smooth and efficient close process. Perform and oversee monthly reconciliations of vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems and technology: You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining financial systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy. This includes evaluating and selecting new software, overseeing system upgrades, and ensuring that systems are properly integrated with other business applications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements: You will continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs. This includes analyzing existing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments: You will collaborate with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and IT, to ensure seamless financial operations and support business objectives. This includes providing financial information and analysis to support decision-making, working with sales operations to ensure accurate vendor billing, and collaborating with procurement to negotiate favorable vendor terms.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making: You will provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making. This includes analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and developing financial models to evaluate different business strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes: You will stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure that the finance department operates efficiently and effectively. This includes attending industry conferences, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations: You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as SOX, and implementing internal controls to mitigate financial risk. This includes staying up-to-date on regulatory changes, conducting regular audits, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

About You

  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred) is a requirement.
  • 7-10 years of experience in finance operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the IT industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience with vendor payments and banking operations, including managing vendor relationships, negotiating payment terms, and overseeing bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and technology, including ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.

Salary
Senior Manager: $135,000 to $165,000/year
Director of Finance: $165,000 to $185,000/yearHow to Apply
