Abbyson is looking for a dynamic individual to join as the Director of Finance within our Accounting/Finance department to manage daily finance functions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter individual and lead the FP&A team to support budgeting (actuals to budget), report analytics, manage weekly and monthly cash flows, conduct bank reporting, and manage special projects within the finance team. This role should have the ability to quickly comprehend the business operations and functioning. This role supports the CFO in the production of forecasts/budgets and is responsible for their submission into the reporting system with high-quality standards and in accordance with established timelines and deadlines.Reporting Relationship:This role will report directly to the company’s CFO who is responsible for Abbyson’s finance functions. The Director of Finance will oversee the financial analysts, work cross-functionally with department leaders, and work closely with senior management on budgets and performance management.General Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the CFO to ensure the financial systems are in alignment with the company’s objectives such as:
  • Improve productivity by managing multiple projects and processes.
  • Gaining insights into customer data and delivering on-time results.
  • Driving financial performance and the use of data to make decisions across the company.
  • Contribute input on data structure, dashboards and reporting to improve financial systems, using Microsoft Dynamics GP as the primary ERP system.
  • Drive business metrics, analyze costs and work closely with department leaders to achieve business goals that create value.
  • Ensure the reliability and integrity of financial information – Internal controls ensure that management has accurate, timely and complete information, including accounting records, in order to plan, monitor and report business operations.

Must-Haves:

  • Experience with cash-flow preparation and reporting.
  • Experience with budget preparation and reporting.
  • Experience with outside auditing firms and audit-lists.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in corporate finance required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail with internal and external financial reporting.
  • Financial modeling: pivot tables, v-lookups, macros is required.
  • Experience using business intelligence/data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience consolidating financial reports, data mining, and creating dashboards.
  • Strong work ethic, sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Project management skills: ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Judgment and decision-making skills: Considering relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
  • Mentoring and development of staff.
  • Proactive and self-driven work habits with demonstrated ability to lead change and improve processes.
  • Natural curiosity and drive to improve the current state of analytics and support data-based decision making across the organization.
