The Director of Quality and EHS leads the Quality Management and Environmental Protection, Health Management & Safety (QM&EHS) functions across the SI EP NA business. The role includes responsibility for setting and communicating the highest quality standards for EP NA R&D and 10 manufacturing sites across Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. The Director plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, reducing non-conformance costs, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and environmental protection, health management and safety regulations.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities: * Quality Management:

  • Maintain and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Cost of Quality data to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions.
  • Ensure implementation of strategic quality initiatives with factories and the product lifecycle management teams.
  • Work collaboratively with plants to reduce Non-Conformance Costs (NCC).
  • Administer the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process in the region.
  • Environmental Protection, Health Management and Safety:
  • Develop and implement robust environmental health and safety programs across EP NA business sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential environmental and safety hazards.
  • Provide regional support of global DEGREE Sustainability goals and metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Create systems and processes that focus on continual improvement of product life cycle, factory operations, supply chain, and customer-facing areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, share lessons learned, and implement best practices across the assigned region.
  • 3rd Party Certification Activities:
  • Lead appropriate 3rd Party certification (ISO 9001/14001/45001, etc.) activities for Siemens facilities across the NA region.
  • Maintain an Integrated Management System (IMS) supporting consistent implementation of certification requirements across all registered facilities.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
  • Lead collaboration with Global Procurement leadership on identification and onboarding of new suppliers, as well as manage existing suppliers, including resolution of quality issues.
  • Enhance and strengthen supplier quality programs, conducting regular audits and assessments.
  • Ensure supplier-related sustainability targets and certifications are achieved.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams with focused root cause analysis and sustainable corrective action.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to reach long-term corrective action on quality issues and support the development of new processes.
  • Coordinate with the Global QM&EHS teams to ensure alignment across all regional businesses, as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience within Quality or Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Prior experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in engineering or related filed
  • Experience with quality management and quality systems across North America or globally

Working Relationships:

  • Reports to VP of Operations EP NA
  • Supervises 4 direct reports: (1) Quality Systems Manager, (1) Supplier Quality Manager, (1) EHS Manager, and (1) Southaven Warranty Lab Manager
  • Matrixed collaboration required on a project-by-project basis. Coordination frequently required with team members and experts from Global Procurement, Materials Management, Business Excellence, Legal, Finance, R&D/Engineering, OpEx, Manufacturing, Global QM&EHS, etc.

  • The pay range for this position is $138,100 – $236,800. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
