What you will be doing:
The Director, Payment will lead and oversee the Tangerine payment product portfolio, including Visa Debit, Interac Debit, EFT, Email Money Transfer and Cross Border Money Transfer.
Leading a high performing team, the Director will ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in a manner that delivers against our customer needs, meets our financial objectives, and does so in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Director of Payment is responsible for the following core areas:
Product Strategy, Portfolio Management & Financial Performance
- Immerse in payment industry trends, payment innovations, new rails and form factors
- Identify, assess and incorporate external trends and innovations to deliver on new growth opportunities and product strategies
- Define and execute a multi-year strategic plan to accelerate business and financial performance
- Effectively manage strategic investments and the P&L across 5 core retail payment products
- Drive financial performance through ongoing review and analysis of P&L trends and identification of risks & opportunities
- Flawlessly execute on priority initiatives and strategic projects by collaborating across the Retail Bank and functional partners to drive results
- Manage existing cobrand partner relationships and portfolio performance
- Drive product and payment experience innovation to develop new products for customers and business/monetization opportunities for the bank

- Create a customer obsessed culture to harness the power of data analytics in product and experience design to deepen customer relationships and create relevant customer value propositions
- Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates talent; foster an inclusive work environment, coach for success and lead development activities for the team
- Adopt a coaching mindset and effectively communicate the strategic vision, values, business strategy and team principles
- Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite. Communicating the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 5-10 years’ experience with payment networks, FIs, fintechs, consulting with focus on product management
- Recognized and resilient team leader who inspires a results-oriented customer-centric culture
- Exceptional business planning, product strategy development and execution skills
- Proven relationship management skills with demonstrated seamless collaboration across multiple stakeholders
