Within this suite of programs and services the Department helps Albertans find opportunities to achieve their potential and participate in, and contribute to, the province’s economy through high quality employment services that connect them to jobs and further skill training.To find out more about our work visit:Role ResponsibilitiesThe Employment and Financial Services Division is looking for an exceptional leader to strategically plan and procure employment services to support Albertans to plan their careers, connect with employers, and find jobs in a rapidly changing economy.Reporting to the Executive Director, Employment Services, the Director, Procurement and Resource Management, is accountable for ensuring the North Zone Career and Employment Information Services (CEIS) align with the department’s employment policy and outcomes. You will be accountable for leading the development and execution of the zone’s strategic investment plan, ensuring that it is resilient to complex and diverse socioeconomic factors across the province and in alignment with the Government of Alberta’s (GoA) Labour Market Transfer Agreement annual plans.You will operate within the broad parameters of the Income and Employment Supports Act (IESA) and its associated regulations. This Act and associated regulations is shared between 4 departments (Seniors, Community and Social Services, Jobs, Economy, & Labour, Immigration & Multiculturalism, and Advanced Education), and each department is responsible for a specific subset of employment and training programs and services. These programs provide supports to the highly diverse population of Albertans through contracted service providers, and civil societies in a wide variety of urban, rural, and Indigenous communities, as well as various industry and social sectors and communities.As the Director you will lead a team of managers, professionals, and administrative staff across the southern part of the Province, ensuring activities are aligned with government, ministry, and cross-ministry mandates, legislation, regulations, policies, and standards.You will also provide strategic leadership and direction in the provision of procurement and contract management and administration; investment planning, and resource management; and delivery of timely, responsive, and proactive labour market-related programs that meet the needs of Albertans and align with GoA and Ministry priorities.You will possess the following Alberta Public Service key competencies:
