Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat you’ll be doingAs the Director, Program Management, you‘ll be joining CIBC’s Cybersecurity, Third Party and Resilience (CTPR’s) Project Management Office to manage delivery of a portfolio of innovative projects. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of 5-8 Project Managers and Project Coordinators and would apply leadership skills and technical expertise to develop detailed business cases outlining goals, terms of reference and resource requirements, including a detailed cost-benefit analysis. The Director, Program Management exercises a high degree of independent judgement to develop and implement processes for projects, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives and quality standards and drives innovation across all areas of responsibility, applying expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsAt CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remoteHow you’ll succeedStrategic development & execution – Manage the day to day project or Program activities of highly complicated project(s), in an inter-related strategic program following the Enterprise project performance standards. Perform high tactical business planning and return on investment outcomes. Initiate, plan, execute, control and close out the program or project with an emphasis on project inter-dependency management. Establish department policies and procedures. Must ensure that all necessary risk assessments and risk assessment processes are carried out at the appropriate time. Must ensure projects for which they are responsible meet the requirements of CIBC’s standards, policies, and procedures.Relationship management – Maintain relationships with business management to identify business, security and technology needs and align business security & technology services to support those needs. Establish and maintain stakeholder, client and senior management relationships. Mentor sponsors and senior management.Build and maintain cross-functional partnerships and networks to contribute and drive strong delivery execution around key business initiatives. Maintain strong partnerships with other business functions/units (i.e. Security, Technology, Architecture, Risk Management, Procurement, Finance etc.)Strong leadership – Be a daring and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people. Direct, motivate, develop and manage performance of the management team and key staff.As a people leader set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals. Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training. Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.Who you areYou can demonstrate experience in end to end project delivery and project management as Senior Project/Program Manager or Project Director, or in a similar role (8-10 years). You deliver results in a matrix environment where they may not have direct influence on project resources. You must have previous experience establishing and maintaining stakeholder and sponsor relationships and you have experience in integration projects and keen interest in both business and technology architecture and high level design.Your influence makes a difference.
