In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:Governance Office:
- Ensure reporting development and production are consistent with Bank’s standard end user computer policies. Ensure reporting processes and definitions are adequately documented and periodically reviewed and updated, as required;
- Optimize credit committees and forums with a global and consistent view across Retail and Small Business credit.
- Custodian of the governance retail credit documentation ensures Global polices and process are documented and updated timely.
- Collaborate with enterprise risk and retail data governance and other relevant stakeholders to ensure transparent and efficient communication to internal and external parties.
- Continuously look for ways to improve/upgrade the current analytical data summary tools and reporting and then implement them; Other data and analysis related duties and assignments as required.
Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Lead the continued improvement and automation efforts for Retail Credit Risk Governance across the different life cycles: originations, account management and collections strategies for all Retail and Small Business portfolios in Canada and International Banking
- Lead in the design, development, implementation, automation and maintenance of credit risk reports using various platforms and systems (e.g. SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, Access, SQL)
- Support IB’s bank strategy acting as an enabler for regionalization and process optimization across different geographies.
- Foster an innovation culture acting as an internet expert for all Artificial intelligence initiatives across Retail.
- Possess a high degree of analytical and technical knowledge and experience, combined with a strong understanding of retail and small business credit risk policies/processes/lifecycle for Canada, and International Banking.
Audit Support
- Leverage audit and regulatory findings to ensure gaps identified and addressed on a timely basis, enhancing the control environment.
- Collaborate with internal auditors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and cooperation on governance and compliance audit matters
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for executive management and directors, providing insights into the bank’s opportunities within audit status
Leadership
- Support staff by ensuring team and work environment supports their development, through effective co-operation, challenging assignments, and cross-training. Identify high potential employees for leadership assignments.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external partner relationships to positive influence idea sharing, collaboration and efficiency.
- Develop staff by coaching in formal settings one-on-one. Support employee performance through situational coaching of issues impacting the business, sharing knowledge/experience, and by providing challenging work with opportunities for staff to take/share responsibility for the delivery of key initiatives, to achieve business objectives/goals. Identify areas requiring development, provide opportunities to correct including support of attendance at courses specific to the area of focus and monitor progress through-out the year.
- Provide interim progress updates regarding performance and provide solutions to address any issues in coaching sessions and semi-annually at interim performance update sessions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Graduate degree in finance, business, economics or related field
- 10+ years in Financial Industry
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of retail banking and/or risk management practices, with knowledge of the regulatory environment and financial services marketplace
- Project Management experience in the Banking industry delivering solutions focused on continuous improvement. Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives/reviews at any given time, often with competing priority.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with many groups across the Bank.
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to develop staff.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret information/data required to monitor the performance of credit portfolios are essential.
- Technical knowledge and experience of SAS, data repositories and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel is preferred. Experience and knowledge of the various adjudication platforms used is also an asset.
