Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As a Director, Senior Commercial Markets, you are aligned to our Senior Commercial Markets (SCM) client segment within Commercial Financial Services (CFS). As a professional relationship manager with strong business development skills and advanced financial acumen, you are responsible for new client acquisition, deepening and growing existing client relationships, portfolio management, and profitability. You excel at delivering timely and relevant financial advice to large commercial businesses within your industry of focus, aligning sales, products, risk policy and market strategies to deliver customized solutions specific for your clients’ needs. You successfully execute RBC and CFS strategic business priorities of delivering a highly differentiated client experience to enhance client loyalty and grow revenue.Note: individuals must be flexible in locationWhat will you do?

  • Manage a portfolio of large commercial clients, taking responsibility for the overall relationship strategy within the client’s RBC relationship team
  • Provide an exceptional client experience by delivering proactive and customized business and financial advice, demonstrating a deep understanding of your clients’ business and industry
  • Acquire and grow Senior Commercial Markets client relationships, collaborating with the client relationship team and bringing the full breadth of RBC to businesses, business owners and their employees
  • Work in close partnership and collaboration with CFS Finance to manage and support complex client credit needs, demonstrating strong credit acumen, as well as sound risk mitigation and portfolio oversight
  • Foster internal and external strategic partnerships and centres of influence (COIs) to meet the business’ strategic goals while focusing on target market clients
  • Ensure clients are enabled to leverage digital solutions for themselves and their business

What do you need to succeed?Must-Have

  • University degree, ideally in Commerce or Business Administration, with strong financial analysis skills
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ commercial banking experience
  • Proven track record in business development and exceptional client relationship management skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Deep knowledge of banking products and services, including industry specialized knowledge, as applicable
  • Experience and comfort with emerging technology (e.g. video conferencing, social media, digital banking and mobile applications)
  • Strong credit analysis / structuring skills

Nice-To-Have

  • MBA, or CFA, or CPA considered an asset
  • Other language capabilities
