Our clients include local and national not-for-profit organizations and registered charities, hospitals, universities, colleges, municipalities, school boards, electricity distributors and other government-funded entities.With offices in Toronto, London, Hamilton and Ottawa, the PSG team has a strong commitment to public sector and not-for-profit organizations. Additionally, our team works with and advises a national network of regional subject matter experts specializing in the public sector and not-for-profit space. This includes coverage in British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Atlantic Canada and the Territories.This position is an ideal choice for experienced candidates with exceptional leadership skills, developed business credit management skills, a depth of experience in working with commercial banking clients and a passion for working in a client-centric environment that aligns to a strong performance culture. As a Director & Team Lead, Commercial Banking, you will join CIBC to manage and grow a portfolio of commercial banking clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the community and ensuring clients’ day-to-day banking needs are being met at the highest level. - Leadership – Provide active leadership and guidance to Commercial Banking Relationship Managers in executing and managing client relationships, including delivery of credit and cash management services. Create an environment which supports partnering behaviour and capitalizes on individuals’ expertise to provide “best in class” service to our clients. Build team and individual capabilities to ensure employees are capable of delivering on Commercial Banking’s value proposition.
- Client Focus – Create an environment which fosters an exceptional service culture, supports partnering behavior and capitalizes on individuals’ expertise to provide “best in class” service and overall relationship management to our clients.
- Business Development – Lead business development activities with prospective and key CIBC clients and represent CIBC in the business community to ensure relationships are developed, solidified and fostered.
- Relationship Building – Impacting your community, and show clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities. Develop new client relationships through your business development activist leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence.
- Collaborate – Connect clients with opportunities. Develop a profile in the local business community in order to leverage that profile into effective working relationships with new and existing clients and internal partners.
- Credit Management – Structure, negotiate and document credit and cash management arrangements with clients and prospects that meet client needs.
Who You Are
- You have experience in commercial banking, proven business development skills, advanced knowledge of risk and credit portfolio management, and highly developed negotiating skills. You have demonstrated selling skills including an ability to identify financial advisory and M&A opportunities with clients. You have a demonstrated ability to identify and address deteriorating credit issues.
