Hedingham Medical Centre are looking to welcome an experienced dispenser into our busy practice, to deal with the day-to-day support for our rural general practice dispensary. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 13.5 hours a week, working Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 8.30am – 1pm.If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we’d love to hear from you.Please note, we reserve the right to close or extend this position depending on application numbers. We urge candidates to apply as early as possible.Main duties of the job

• Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate in accordance with the principles of good practice.
• Assist the dispensary manager in ensuring effective financial control of the dispensary.
• Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription.
• Collect all due prescription charges.
• Process dossette boxes.
• Answer and deal withdispensary phone enquiries.
• Monitor patients exemption status.
• Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication.
• Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the dispensary manager.

• Enthusiastic and well motivated.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Work well under pressure.
• You will need to be flexible as you may need to cover for holiday/sickness for colleagues.
