About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Dog Grooming Technical Trainer role within our Animal Management team at our stunning Merrist Wood College!
In this role you will be assisting the Dog Grooming lecturer in their delivery, education and training to students at the College on the college’s bespoke L1 Dog Grooming qualification and the delivery of the Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant courses. You will have responsibilities linked to the quality of teaching and learning in the delivery of the grooming courses and in supporting the raising of standards in accordance with the Corporate Aims and Strategic Objectives of the College.
You will also oversee the running and preparation of the grooming parlour for the learners and liaising with clients. There may be an opportunity for you to oversee the running of additional L1 Dog Grooming courses or our one day a week Pampered Pooch course on a variable hours basis as per the business need.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE) at our Merrist Wood College campus. Additional hours up to 17 per week are available for candidates qualified to teach on our L1 Dog Grooming courses.
What do you need to be a Dog Grooming Technical Trainer at Activate Learning?
Successful candidates will hold a Level 2 or higher Dog Grooming qualification or equivalent, and have a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one. Ideally, you will have work experience within a Further Education environment.
You will be enthusiastic and motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students at all levels to ensure you are maximising individual strengths to set them up for success.
