Nursery: Bright Horizons Finsbury Park Day Nursery and PreschoolSalary: Starting from £26,697.99 per annum (Full-time equivalent – Pro-rata) (dependent on qualification/s and experience)Location: Finsbury Park, LondonWe are looking for a part time, Early Years Kitchen Assistant to join our Bright Horizons Finsbury Park nursery, which is situated in the heart of Finsbury Park close to local shops and amenities. The nursery offers excellent links to rail, tube and bus stations. The nearest rail and tube stations to the nursery is Finsbury Park underground station (10 minute walk), Finsbury park Railway station (9 minute walk) and Crouch Hill Rail station (9 minute walk). We have buses 210, W3 and W7 that is close to the nursery. This role is for Monday-Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm.Our Bright Horizons Finsbury Park is purpose built Ofsted rated “Good” and is a light, spacious, purpose-built day nursery all on one level the rooms all have direct access to outdoor garden areas.What we can offer youOur benefits include, but are not limited to;

• Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external requirements
• Support the Chef in the preparation and cooking of age-appropriate food for all the children, with minimal food wastage
• In the absence of the Chef, take responsibility for the running of the kitchen, and ensuring all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams
• Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
• Support the Chef to ensure budgetary requirements are met, and stock levels are suitably managed and recorded
• Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience within a role which involves cooking or working in a kitchen within a domestic or commercial property
• Passion for nutrition, and inspiring others in healthy eating
• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post
• Sound knowledge of COSHH
• Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements, particularly food allergies
• Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents
• Ability to work under pressure
