The purpose of the assignment is to provide technical and operational support to the Family Welfare Division and Management Division of GoN for the conduction and completion of the effective vaccine management assessment.
The Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) Assessment Consultant will support in all activities in preparation of EVM assessment including self-assessments, lead all training and orientation of the EVM assessors, observers and stakeholders. The consultant will also be responsible to lead data collection, analysis, development of the report and its dissemination. Additionally, the consultant will develop Improvement plan, in collaboration with government, partners and stakeholders, based on the EVM assessment findings.
EVMAs assess four levels of supply chains:
- Primary level (PR) vaccine stores, which receive vaccine directly from international vaccine manufacturers and suppliers.
- Sub-national level (SN) vaccine stores, which receive vaccines from a primary store or higher level sub-national store.
- Lowest distribution level (LD) vaccine stores, which receive vaccine from a primary level or a sub-national store and supply vaccine to more than two health facilities.
- Service point level (SP) health facilities that receive vaccines from higher-level stores and provide immunization services.

- Education: Advanced university degree in Public Health, Supply Chain/Vaccine Management, Management, Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines with specialized training in Vaccine and Supply Chain Management.
- Work experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in immunisation programme with EPI supply chain performance review; conducting EVM assessment and cold chain equipment deployment monitoring. Working experience of Ministry of Health, UN agencies is desirable.
- Special skills: Good written and spoken Nepali and English languages, interpersonal skills and teamwork, self-motivated able to work with partners and work in remote settings. Must have knowledge of health system in Nepal.
