Join us today and be a key player in shaping the future of Canadian business!Your roleThe Business Development Manager (BDM) achieves sales targets and budgets by prospecting, developing, and enhancing relationships with end users. The BDM will be responsible for a defined territory within the Ontario Tri-City area (Guelph, Waterloo, Kitchener, west of Greater Toronto Area) and will possess specific experience in financial analysis and credit packaging within the equipment-intensive industries.RequirementsSales driven. Relationship driven. Engaged. MotivatedDevelops and implements a personal business plan and activity-based sales strategies to deliver strong, profitable, and balanced growth of equipment loans and leases.Communicate directly with internal partners, customers and external professionals (accountants, etc.).Analyze financial statements and develop credit packages to support larger dollar transactions.Drive the credit and lease processes through the preparation of applications and documentation.Apply effective communication to ensure customer expectations are successfully achieved with all internal/external collaborators.Foundational knowledge and experience to grow with us.Financial and marketing knowledge of local markets and national economies built on a foundation of formal education (business, commerce, finance, sales, marketing diploma/degree) or real-life experience (5+ years of financial services sales experience – preferably in equipment financing and leasing). You don’t need letters behind your name (CFA, CPA) but you will need the ability to understand financial statements, and how to communicate challenges to both Credit Risk and clients. An extensive and successful sales background would be considered strong asset!SkillsEntrepreneurial problem solver who takes pride in their strong detail orientation and focuses on finding the best solution possible for the client and business.Individual with professional selling skills that will assist in the negotiation and closing of deals, both internally with Credit Risk and externally with clients.Understanding of credit within the transportation, construction, and manufacturing industries.Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, time/people management skills.Superior interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build key relationships.Strong business sense, problem solving skills and analytical capabilities.Proven work ethic with the utmost integrity and desire to excel and succeed.Strong critical thinking and mathematical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.Capacity to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Capable of learning existing software and programming used in house while remaining flexible to new technology being introduced.Great teammate and see the value in working together to achieve common goals and pivotal initiatives.Your benefitsIn addition to competitive compensation, upon hiring you’ll be eligible for a wide range of flexible benefits to help promote your wellbeing and that of your family.
