Job description
Our Client, a Global Automotive Supplier Company, is looking for EHS Leader for their Hayward, CA locationResponsibilities:
- The Leader EHS is responsible for the assistance and creation in the of improvement policies and programs, maintaining compliance of current and future internal and external regulations and standards.
- Monitor EHS performance, identify risks, areas of improvement, conduct and manage EHS audits and on-site inspections to identify EHS workplace hazards.
- Assist with the investigation of EHS incidents, prepare reports and recommendations, implement waste management programs, develop and drive EHS trainings , manage relationships with community of EHS stakeholders.
- Research, evaluate and recommend changes to improve EHS performance.
- Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to plant employees
- Eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of EHS professionals.
- Implementation of EHS systems according to norms ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS.
- Maintain relationships with the community, EHS groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization.
- Coordinate compliance audits, inspections, including insurance inspections.
- Ensure all new equipment meets all legal and Client requirements.
- Help set the standard and cultivate the EHS culture in the plant.
- Will spend significant time with audits and responding to findings
- Will help develop safety culture at the site
Requirements
- Bachelor’s level degree
- Area of study: EHS or similar.
- 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience.
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Experience in regulatory compliance in OSHA, worker’s compensation, manufacturing health and safety training, environmental and ergonomics.
- ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including internal and external customers such as OE and NGO requirements; training and record keeping requirements, ISO documentation requirements and formats.
- Must have CALOSHA experience/knowledge
- Office Environment and Plant Manufacturing Environment
- Often exposed to distracting sounds and noisy conditions
- Personal protective equipment is required
- Exposure to hot or cold temperatures
- Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person.
- Exposure to hazardous equipment on a daily basis
- Work is indoor in a manufacturing setting that may not be temperature controlled.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
