The EHS Manager is instrumental in driving a culture of Environmental, Health and Safety in the manufacturing facility of approximately 80 employees. This individual will work across the organization, facilitating employee and management teams, to implement best-in-class practices ensuring compliance with all employee health, safety and environmental complianceWhat you will do

  • Implement best practice EH&S programs, strategies, and processes to improve awareness and performance across the facility.
  • Partner with plant leadership and safety committee members to accomplish all required EHS programs, including but not limited to: Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Action Plans, Mobile Equipment, Confined Space, Hot Work, Hearing Conservation, LOTO, etc. and all associated training and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Evaluate plant’s compliance with environmental regulations and identify areas of improvement and manage corrective actions from concept to conclusion.
  • Manage environmental and safety reporting including OSHA, EPA reporting, record keeping, and environmental permits.
  • Drive changes in manufacturing processes to reduce environmental waste streams.
  • Develop and conduct safety training to educate the workforce to mitigate risk, limit liability and ensure compliance with TC’s Vigilance Health, Safety, and Wellness program.
  • Provide leadership to the development of action plans resulting from internal and/or external audit nonconformities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for processes, work areas (job analysis), machine safety, and ergonomics.
  • Investigate all accidents and “near misses” and determine corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Propose, implement, and maintain leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
  • Participate in annual review of written safety programs and prepare annual action plan.
  • Ensure accurate and on-time submission of EHS metrics and reports.
  • Provide support and guidance to the contractor safety management program.
  • Conduct & assess internal audits to identify non-compliance, hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors in equipment, facilities, and processes.
  • Coordinate safety training and orientation for new employees.

What you have to offer

  • BS degree in a related field: Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, etc.
  • 2 to 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with permit administration including Title V, air permit, etc.
  • Background and expertise in EHS recordkeeping, reporting and compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and the ability to interpret government regulations and to keep the Company compliant in government reporting/posting.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations.
  • Must be comfortable delivering training and speaking in front of large groups.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong leadership and ability to execute change.
  • Effective communicator with clear, consistent messaging both verbally and in writing.
  • Motivated and self-directed with good leadership skills.
  • Ability to coach and provide guidance to all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) great asset
