This position offers an opportunity for involvement in the validation and testing of a range of electronic
systems and products within Tier 1 automotive and aerospace businesses. It will involve working closely with internal and external customers, working to the highest standards and working in a responsive, customer-oriented environment offering plenty of variety.What you’ll do
– Setting up and conducting all types of EMC tests
– Making sure that test specifications are followed correctly
– Devising and carrying out non-standard tests to meet special requirements
– Recording product condition or behaviour during and after test
– Creating concise and clear test records
– Monitoring test equipment and reporting anomalies or faults
– Producing clear and professional reports as required
– Working closely with clients to understand and resolve EMC test failures through investigative Work
– Checking and calibrating equipment and test chambersWhat we are looking forEssential:
– Educated to HND or engineering degree standard. A good understanding of Physics is important
– A thorough understanding of RF measurement principles
– EMC/RF experience (in the context of hands on testing and approvals/standards)
– Minimum 5 years practical test experience in a controlled test environment working to
Automotive/Aerospace test standards
– Familiarity with test, monitoring and control instruments
– Knowledge and experience of working to a recognised quality system
– Conscientious in attention to detail, accuracy and record keepingDesirable:
– Computer literate – working knowledge of standard PC applications
– Experience of EMC aerospace testing to DO-160 is highly desirable as is experience of setting up, conducting and analysing EMC aerospace lightning tests
– Ability to communicate clearly and to deal confidently with customers
– Willingness to work additional hours when required including a shift working pattern
– Ability to learn quickly and adapt to varying work requirements
– Knowledge/experience of calibration techniques
Expected salary
£38000 – 50000 per year
