Under the overall supervision of FAO WBGS (West Bank and Gaza Strip) Head of Office, the direct supervision of the FAO WBGS Field Operations Coordinator, and close collaboration with FAO WBGS Operations and Programme Team
Timeliness and quality provision of Operations functions for the emergency projects in accordance with FAO’s rules.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Liaise with other UN organizations, sector, NGO and donor partners at the appropriate level to ensure the best preparation and implementation of emergency and resilience activities.
- Provide operational management and programmatic support to the implementation of emergency projects and programmes, including logistics management and monitoring.
- Coordinate the production and clearance of supporting documents (SOPs, shipping documents,..) to ensure timely transmission of logistics monitoring information, delivery and distribution status of goods and services in the Gaza Strip.
- Conduct logistics reviews and ensure appropriate processes and systems are in place to ensure efficiency of the logistics operations within Gaza.
- Provide liaison and coordination support with relevant authorities which are involved in logistics operations and address relevant issues to enhance the FAO’s interventions in the Gaza Strip.
- Coordinate movement of FAO personnel, in accordance with procedures established in United Nations system rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Candidates Will Be Assessed Against The Following:
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in Development Studies, Economics, International Relations, Agricultural/Natural/Social Sciences or other relevant field.
- At least three years of experience in emergency field operations including work experience with national and international NGOs, UN agencies, governments and donors, or other relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of English Language and limited knowledge of one of the other languages of the organization (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian). For PSA.SBS the working knowledge of only one language is required.
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Four years of more of experience in analyzing and supporting the implementation of logistics operations in international organizations is required.
- Experience in data analytics or related area is required.
- Experience in preparing and designing logistics networks, and coordination mechanisms is required.
- Experience in working on conflict or post-conflict logistics issues is desirable
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office application (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
