Job description

About us

UCL East is UCL’s single biggest development since we were founded, with its first two buildings opened in 2022 and 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, UCL East will be dedicated to disruptive thinking and discovery across disciplines and beyond academic walls, to find solutions to the biggest challenges for future living.

About the role

As part of UCL’s expansion to East London, we are seeking to appoint an Employer Engagement and Work-Related Learning Officer for the School for the Creative and Cultural Industries (SCCI) in Stratford. This is a new post in UCL Careers to co-ordinate work-related learning activities for SCCI’s programmes.

In this job you’ll engage with relevant academics, staff, employers, alumni and professional bodies, to run various work-related-learning activities (many of which are built into the curriculum within credit-bearing modules). These could include consultancy projects, work placements, and extra-curricular activities (such as employer or alumni talks, skill development masterclasses or workshops). Such engagement may involve developing relationships with existing contacts but will also involve proactively researching the market and establishing new connections.

The interviews will take place on Tuesday 6 February 2024 at UCL East.

About you

To do this job you’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise your own workload, work to deadlines, and remain calm under pressure. Previous experience in coordinating student activities or programmes, such as consultancy projects, work placements, or similar projects for students, is essential.
