Engineering Assistant – Flood Risk37 Hours per week – £26,421 – £33,024 per annumApplications are invited from keen, motivated individuals looking for an opportunity to work with a well-established team in a friendly office environment.The Engineering Services team undertakes functions for neighbouring authorities under a partnership arrangement, which includes management of flood risk in relation to new development sites. This is a new role which will focus on flood risk management via our consultee role on planning applications. Extent of autonomy and grade will depend on the successful applicant’s knowledge and previous experience. The post will initially be based full-time at the Civic Centre, Pershore although the post will predominantly deal with flood risk management in the Malvern Hills District and Worcester City. There is a satellite office in Malvern and so the role will be split between the two locations.About youThe successful candidate will:
- Ideally have a background in flood risk management.
- Experience of working on surface water management strategies.
- Knowledge of national planning policies in relation to flood risk and proposed development sites.
- Experience of working with flood groups.
- Experience of working in a technical office environment.
- Ability to use GIS mapping systems.
- Be computer literate with experience of using and analysing electronic data.
