Position: Teacher of EnglishLocation: FarnboroughContract Type: PermanentSalary: £32-£38k DOEStart Date: September, an earlier start date can be discussed if necessaryMy client is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated English Teacher with a love of education to join their committed team. This is a well resourced department based within the heart of the school, with a dedicated literacy and oracy team who work across the school.The successful candidate will;
- Engage, enthuse, motivate and challenge students in order for them to excel academically
- Have relentlessly high expectations of themselves and students
- Have excellent subject knowledge
- Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Department and wider school through sharing resources
- and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in
- continuing professional studies programme
- Teach a standard timetable allocation
- Make a positive contribution to the efficient running of the Department, including, setting and marking
- examinations, attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated
- by the Head of Department
- Support the schools’ aims and objectives for teaching and learning
- Adhere to and promote all school policies and procedures
Person Specification
- Good degree in a directly related subject (desirable)
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience
- Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice
- Good level of IT literacy
- Be capable of delivering inspirational and informative lessons to the full age and ability range of pupils
- Be able to demonstrate a positive and authoritative rapport with students
- Excellent and effective classroom management skills
- Have excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with pupils, parents, staff and visitors
- Be organised and self-motivated, with a proven record for meeting targets and deadlines
- A good sense of humour
