Your role and responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring and age-appropriate English lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s English curriculum and participate in school-wide literacy initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and dynamic classroom that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Lead extracurricular activities that enhance students’ literacy skills, such as reading clubs and school publications.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Possess a PGCE or equivalent with a focus in English, Literacy along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is essential.
  • Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with a proven track record of fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Have strong command of literacy teaching methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
  • Have love for the English language and literature, and a desire to instil a lifelong enthusiasm for reading and writing in children.
  • Have Right to work in the UK
  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Provide 2 proven professional references
