As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and possibly A-level. You will guide students through a diverse curriculum, including classic and contemporary literature, language skills, and creative writing. Your role will involve assessing student progress, preparing them for exams, and contributing to the school’s broader academic and extracurricular community.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and enthusiasm for English.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to prepare them for exams.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and an appreciation for literature and language.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, writing workshops, and school events.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialisation in English.
- Previous experience teaching English at secondary level is highly desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for both literature and education.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
