The Lake District is England’s largest National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will be contracted for 10 sessions per week with the option to increase along with service needs. The post holder will need to have a broad experience in general ENT. Any subspecialty interest will be actively supportedInterview date TBCMain duties of the jobYou will work as part of the ENT team to provide a highquality ENT service that aims to provide excellent patient care. Thisincludes delivery of out-patient, emergency, day-case and inpatientservices independently.You will be expected to manage your own workprogramme within the broad parameters of Department policiesand procedures, and will be responsible for determining theassociated work activities using their initiative.Working Hours: As job planOn-call: 1:5 on call weekends and 1:4 weekdays with prospectivecoverThe anticipated job plan is included but may be subject to changesand involve working at other sites within the UHMB communityAbout usWe operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe BayOur community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. - Full GMC registration with a licence to practise at time of appointment
- Entry on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of obtaining your CCT at the time of interview
- FRCS or an equivalent appropriate higher surgical qualification

- Higher professional qualification in ENT surgery, Teaching or Research and education
