To maintain our leadership in the fresh-cut herb industry, we are in search of a dynamic individual to fill the role of Entry Level Customer Service and Shipping Assistant. This position is located in Commerce, California.
This multifaceted position plays a pivotal role in assisting two key departments, handling responsibilities that include shipping coordination, daily order entries, customer communication, quality assurance, and order review. Customer Support:
- Assist in processing customer orders, updates, returns, and other changes as requested by key accounts and the Customer Service Manager or Sales team.
- Assist in the coordination of timely and accurate incoming orders to ensure these are being processed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Sales and Production to exceed customer expectations.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding order updates rejections, delays, and other requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Offer administrative support to Customer Support Manager as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Shipping Support Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in overseeing paperwork, scheduling appointments, and confirming daily shipping activities.
- Support in tracking and verifying inbound receiving orders and related documentation.
- Collaborate with departments such as customer service and sales to manage customer expectations and provide transportation support as needed.
- Supports the Sales team with samples as requested by key accounts and customers.
- Assists in ensuring the accuracy of order processing for both outbound and inbound shipments.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
- High School Diploma or equivalent and or previous on-the-job training required.
- 1+ years’ experience in shipping, customer service, customer support, sales, or administrative roles required.
- Bilingual (English – Spanish) required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams and departments.
- Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays, especially during the holiday season.
Compensation: $19 – $21/hour, depending on experience.
Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally move pallets weighing 250-300 pounds, utilizing appropriate equipment and following established safety guidelines. Specific vision abilities in this job include close distance and color vision.
