Our unique approach to the market and our genuine understanding of the application challenges that can occur – from initial concept right through to manufacture – enable us to help our customers optimize their system’s performance, reliability and cost of ownership.Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be part of a team who engage in producing, modifying and upgrading new and legacy production equipment, used for the manufacture of RF products. You will be part of a growing team who thrive on the challenge of producing bespoke equipment and working to high standards. The candidate will already have sound equipment/machinery design experience, and be willing to share with and learn from the existing team, adopting our methodologies. Due to the nature of security requirements, some of these posts will be reserved for sole UK nationals only.The successful applicants responsibilities would include:Producing designs for electrical & electronic equipment circuitryCreating detailed technical drawings and schematics using CADWriting software for control and automation systems for bespoke equipmentProgramming of Mitsubishi PLC ladder code using GX Works, GX DeveloperProgramming of predominantly Red Lion, occasionally Pro-face, Mitsubishi & Siemens HMIsProgramming of Eurotherm temperature controllers and data acquisition devicesProgramming NI LabVIEW software for virtual front ends of equipmentWorking with a high attention to detail and accuracyQualificationsSkill, experience or qualifications that will be essential:Engineering qualifications such as HNC, Degree or equivalentAbility to work from detailed technical specifications, drawings and manualsAbility to work to deadlines and budgetsQuality checking of own work and othersExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skillsAbility to work using own initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspectsSkill, experience and qualifications that are desirable:Previous experience of working in a design & manufacturing environmentExperience with bespoke machinery and one-off prototype/concept workKnowledge of other engineering areas; electrical, mechanical, gases, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.Experience with visual and text based codingUse of Autodesk PDMC; AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor 3D and othersExperience of programming and software creation for machine control and process automationUnderstanding of SCADA systems in a manufacturing environmentPersonal attributes:Collaborative, constructive and team goal focused contributorSelf-motivated and able to use own initiativeTakes ownership of tasks and responsibilitiesKeen to share skills and experience with fellow team membersTakes a proactive approach to new working practices and techniquesCustomer focussedTeledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
