Description :SUMMARYWelltower is seeking an ESG Analyst to be a key member of the Welltower environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance (ESG) Team. We are looking for a team-centric individual with a passion for ESG information systems and processes along with a desire to leverage data to advance our ESG leadership and sustainability practices. The role will require strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and communications skills to drive rigorous reporting, analysis, and insights and to help build systems and processes to meet the evolving needs of our business and ESG stakeholders. The ESG Analyst will project manage meetings, milestones, and management reporting and is heavily involved in the continued development and implementation of Welltower’s ESG program. You will work with external and internal stakeholders across all business segments to gather data to define the current state and align resources and efforts to achieve goals and objectives. This position can be based in our New York City, NY or Dallas, TX offices.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the extraction, collection, organization, curation, and analysis of ESG data to meet global ESG reporting and communication needs.
  • Create effective communications, disclosure, and responses leveraging ESG data to elevate ESG reporting, positioning, and engagement.
  • Participate in the further development and implementation of Welltower’s ESG program and communication and disclosure plan, including the annual ESG Report, GRESB, and CDP.
  • Support ESG framework alignment and disclosure, including but not limited to: Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, Global Reporting Initiative, Sustainable Accounting Standards Board, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Responsible for property-level compliance with municipal benchmarking and performance ordinances.
  • Identify and develop programs to increase sustainable practices across the portfolio to meet ESG goals and metrics.
  • Engage with ESG rating agencies such as ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc. to understand the mechanisms behind the rating, and develop strategy to drive positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate in the building and administration of efficient global ESG information systems and processes across all functional and geographic areas of the organization.
  • Monitor developing ESG regulatory reporting requirements and develop processes and internal controls to meet requirements.
  • Develop ESG insights and thought leadership to support internal and external partners, investors, and other ESG stakeholders.
  • Responsible for data and analytical rigor, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Drive continuous system and process improvement.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders with projects/initiatives/deliverables.

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, preferred, plus 1-2 years of quantitative analytical experience preferably in ESG, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or Information Systems.

Experience:

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong project and time management skills to drive cross functional and ambitious plans into actionable business outcomes.
  • A critical thinker, nimble with financial and non-financial analysis, with a focus on concrete and quantitative or qualitative back-up for positions taken.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Written communication skills include the ability to create PowerPoint decks and write content for reports, social postings, and policies.
  • Verbal communication skills include the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with operating partners, vendors, and other internal teams, as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Background in ESG and sustainability is a plus, including use of tools such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, as well as experience reporting with GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, DJSI, GRESB, ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and drive to further ESG programs.
  • Inspires and builds trust among teams and internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.COMPENSATIONSalaries may vary by location. The range for this role in New York City is $75,000 – $100,000 plus bonus. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to, the relevant market and the skill, experience, and education of the selected candidate.WHAT WE OFFER
