ESG Manager – Reporting and EngagementPermanentHybrid workingThe ESG Manager (Reporting and Engagement) will support delivery of our world-class ESG reporting, ratings and stakeholder engagement programme, to demonstrate the progress and value being delivered by our 2030 ESG plan – For a Better World. This is an exciting, varied and global role, supporting on a wide agenda from annual ESG reporting to the latest sustainability reporting directives with CSRD to ESG stakeholder communications and events.We are looking for an engaging, tenacious and organised individual who can both project manage the reporting process, while bringing our ESG story to life through highly engaging reports, comms content and stakeholder activities.You will be a clear, compelling, and persuasive communicator with excellent verbal and written skills and experience of applying this in an ESG, sustainability or people-related role. You are highly organised with keen attention to detail and excellent project management skills. You have a natural ability and confidence to build strong relationships across a global matrix. You enjoy variety and flexibility with the ability to adapt to different tasks, but always ensure key deadlines are met to a high standard.This role will report to the Head of ESG reporting and stakeholder engagement and sit within an experienced, motivated and externally recognised global ESG team that you can learn and grow within (TIME World’s most sustainable companies 2024, EcoVadis Platinum rated, Best company for sustainability reporting – Corporate ESG Awards 2023).This is a hybrid role, combining working remotely with attending our London or Corby offices and with some UK and potentially overseas travel during the year.What you will be doing:Support delivery of word-class ESG reporting and ratings – helping us to prepare for new ESG reporting regulations including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
- Develop existing ESG reporting to align to the requirements of the EU CSRD including internal project and stakeholder management to meet the extensive new requirements
- Content development, project and stakeholder management for Annual Report and ESG Report, including liaising with internal and external experts (consultants and auditors) to collate and draft disclosures
- Support developing compliance approach for other emerging ESG reporting regulations: International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), UK Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT), and the EU/UK Taxonomies, Corporate Sustainability Due Diliegence Directive (CSDDD)
- Prepare annual disclosures for Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)
- Lead ESG rating submissions for EcoVadis, S&P Yearbook, FTSE4Good, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
- Produce compelling content to engage our stakeholders in our 2030 ESG action plan
Create content to support ESG engagement with Investor Relations, sales and marketing, comms (internal, social, supplier, events) at a group and market level and manage external supporting agencies
- Create materials to support ESG presentations for events and meetings
- Produce quarterly ESG updates for customers and suppliers
Build relationships and create educational content to help internal teams drive ESG action
- Project manage and create content for internal ESG training and capability programme
- Support content creation for ESG engagement programme for customers and suppliers
- Support markets to respond to customer ESG questionnaires and awards applications
Project management
- Project manage ESG website refresh
- Project manage ESG activities for key internal events, for example career fairs, purpose days etc.
Key skills and experience we are looking for:
- Experience of working in the field of sustainability, ESG reporting, ratings and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to translate technical sustainability information into simple, compelling and credible concepts
- Understanding and experience of working with key sustainability reporting frameworks and ESG indices (GRI, SASB, UN SDGs, UNGC, TCFD, EcoVadis, MSCI, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good). Don’t worry if you don’t know them all – we can teach you!
- Highly organised with tested project management skills
- High attention to detail and data, analytical and excel skills
- A developing ESG subject matter expert, confident to engage with stakeholders on sustainability, inclusion and responsible business topics
- An engaging, proactive and charismatic individual who is passionate about ESG/sustainability
- Keen interest and understanding of the latest ESG/ sustainability trends
- Experience working in a global and/or matrix organisation is desirable
