Location: Bailrigg, Lancaster, UK(Full time, indefinite)Interview date: Thursday 29th August 2024A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Conferences and Events+ team at Lancaster University.Working with the Conferences and Events Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Event Coordinators and organise a range of student, academic, research and corporate events. Using your experience in venue management, coordination with operational partners and excellent customer service, you will play a key role in the team and deliver events and conferences that exceed expectations.Working in a customer-facing environment, you will be a confident communicator, be proactive in solving problems with a proven track record in outstanding customer service and have a excellent attention to detail. You will demonstrate the ability to build, manage and maintain long-term relationships, and will be used to last minute changes.You will be a service driven and results-orientated with excellent general IT and administrative skills and have a good first level of education. This is a great opportunity if you already have experience in project management and have general administrative skills. You will be the link between many departments to ensure the effective delivery of all events on campus and at other local venues.To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in events management including planning, delivery, and post-event coordination.
  • Experience in venue management.
  • Experience in sales and budgets.
  • To demonstrate leadership and the ability to support and motivate a team
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills (including proofreading skills) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, particularly MS Office packages.

The Conferences and Events+ department at Lancaster University supports a range of high-profile events and conferences for the institution as well as events for the general public.You must meet all the essential criteria on the person specification document to be considered for interview.This is a full-time permanent role with working hours during evening and weekends in peak season.Benefits in role:
