About the role
Join our team as a Data Governance Specialist to drive the implementation of a robust Data Governance framework for the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP). Your role will focus on defining policies, standards, and processes, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance. Lead initiatives to integrate data from diverse sources and implement a Data Catalog tool to support current and future data needs.

Key responsibilities
- Data Governance Framework: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement an effective data governance framework aligned with organizational goals.
- Data Catalog: Work closely with internal stakeholders to create comprehensive business definitions, establish a Data Catalog tool, and ensure data profiling, lineage, cataloging, and classification.
- Data Quality: Establish and maintain standards, metrics, and processes for data quality assessment, monitoring, and improvement.
- Data Ownership and Stewardship: Govern data ownership, accountability, and issue resolution; establish a network of domain data stewards to adhere to data governance policies.
- Communication and Training: Promote data-driven culture; develop training materials and conduct awareness sessions for employees on data governance principles.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Implement systems for monitoring adherence to data governance policies; generate reports on key metrics for Senior Leadership.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations.
About you
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance or related roles.
- Specialist knowledge of Data Governance principles and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data processing, and pipelining.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project Management skills for Data Governance initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL.
- Proven track record in leading data-related projects and Data Governance Framework implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Data Catalog and Data Quality tools.
- Preferred experience in healthcare data analytics.
