Job DescriptionOur client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Ayr, require a number of Exam Invigilators to cover the current exam diet on 25th April. Morning shifts are offered between 9.15am and 12.45pm. The rate of pay will be £12.17 per hour.Main Purpose of the Role:
Under the guidance of the Registry Academic Administrator and the Senior Invigilator assigned to the exam hall, you will be responsible for the supervision of the students undertaking examinations.Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to the Senior Invigilator in the organisation and supervision of examinations
- Help with the distribution of examination papers and any ancillary material
- Ensure student’s personal belongs are placed at the appropriate designated area
- Follow instructions regarding the running of the examination including the setting out of desks before the commencement of the examination and the supervision of the students
- Observe students during the examination ensuring that the examinations are conducted in accordance with the appropriate procedures and examination regulations
- Escort candidates who require to be absent temporarily from the examination venue
- Check the identification of students
- Collect in the attendance slips from the desks of each candidate
- Ensure candidates remain seated until all answer scripts/folders have been collected in
- Assist in bringing the examination papers back to to the Examinations unit
- Assist in ensuring that University procedures/instructions are carried out in the event of a fire alarm or first aid requirement
- Report any relevant matters regarding the operation of the exam to the Senior Invigilator
- Respond to enquiries from the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee on any disciplinary offence arising during the invigilation of an examination
- Ensure the confidentiality of examination matters

- A good general education
- A professional manner with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work
- Good observational skills
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing and the ability to deal with staff and students in a polite and courteous manner
- Calm and efficient manner in dealing with people especially in stressful situations
