About the RoleLeeds City College are recruiting for an Exam Access Arrangements Assessor (EAA) to join our team.This role is being advertised as reduced year 38 weeks per year, 37 hours per week with flexible/hybrid working available, however we are willing to consider other working patterns including:

  • Full Year – 4 days a week (actual salary commencing at £24,418 with progression to £26,679)
  • Reduced Year 38 weeks – 4 days a week (actual salary commencing at £21,217 with progression to £23,182)

As an Exam Access Arrangements Needs Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out specialist exam access arrangements to ensure learners who require it have the appropriate reasonable adjustments during any examinations taken during their programme of study.The function of this role is to support learners with additional needs to access learning, college facilities and fully participate in general College activities; having access to any specific exam arrangements as evidenced as the learner’s usual way of working to ensure they are not disadvantaged.What You Will Do

  • You will be supporting learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and have worked in a similar role previously.
  • You will need to plan, prepare and implement support plans and carry out assessments to support young people and/or vulnerable adults to be successful in their studies.
  • You will perform appropriate tests based on the student’s need, to ensure they confirm the student’s normal way of working.
  • Be the primary point of contact for learners and work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and the JCQ regulations in relation to exam access arrangements.

About You

  • Postgraduate qualification in individual specialist assessment at or equivalent to level 7.
  • Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Relevant and current experience of applying exam access requirements in line with JCQ guidelines.
  • Have use of own transport or able to travel to multiple sites at short notice.
  • Strong Awareness of disability issues and equality and diversity issues.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
