CNL undertakes a broad spectrum of research, testing, and operational support in the domain of emergency planning and response, as it pertains to radiological and nuclear events, to include planning and participating in related small- and large-scale exercises. Further, CNL’s missions in nuclear forensics, cyber resiliency for critical infrastructure, and emerging mission areas also have a requirement for planning and execution of role-based, tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises in their respective areas and with their respective stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an important team member who can capably facilitate day-to-day operations of an exercise planning and execution team and contribute to or execute highly complex and sensitive support work to achieve short- and mid-term results. The successful candidate may also coordinate the day-to-day task workflow of a larger, yet focused team in the day-to-day execution of work to achieve immediate to short-term results.

What you will be doing:
CNL is looking for an Exercise Coordinator to perform the following duties:
· Conducts work under the direction of Branch Manager, Nuclear Response and Analysis (supervisor); Section Head for Emergency Planning & Response; Portfolio Leads for Emergency Planning & Response, Cyber Resiliency of Operational Technology, Nuclear Forensics, and other Directorate staff, as needed.
· Occasional national and international travel, up to 25% of time. Off-normal work hours occasionally required (e.g., overnight to support international virtual events).
· Supports technical staff/authors in document preparation: may develop content for technical or process documents; support documentation management process on behalf of the team for certain functions; conduct verification on all types of documents to ensure completeness and accuracy and to ensure conformity with Information Management standards; and maintain awareness of document deliverable schedule and support author activities to meet delivery schedule.
· Supports procurement activities such as determining or documenting specifications and requirements at the branch or directorate level for technical equipment, services contracts, or other exercise-related supplies and equipment; may initiate and track progress through procurement process tools.
· Organizes meetings with stakeholders and records meeting commitments.
· Supports training and exercise material preparation and assembly. Schedules instructors, arranges facilities, and coordinates event/training registration and participation. Manages associated external contracts. Maintains training participation records. Supports delivery logistics.
· Prepares detailed procedures to ensure consistent and correct use of corporate administrative tools among staff, and associated workflow requirements.
· Maintains awareness of team deliverables, regularly communicates status to team, supports and facilitates timely delivery to customers/stakeholders.
· Champions process improvements, within and external to the portfolio, section, branch, and directorate.

What we are looking for:
· Post-secondary degree is required.
· 2+ years of progressing experience related to the functions and responsibilities of the position.
· Looking for someone with demonstrated experience working in a technical environment, anticipating and being responsive to team needs, and does so with quiet professionalism and efficiency.
· This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
· Possess outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and take ownership for commitments and action items.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability for writing in a clear and understandable manner.
· Detail-oriented and strives to identify and solve potential issues proactively.
· Demonstrated time-management skills to work on multiple time-sensitive task simultaneously.
· Consistent, positive stakeholder focused attitude.
· Use discretion and good judgment to resolve issues and positively interact with a wide variety of staff and clients of all levels.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Aptitude to learn various computer/software programs.
· Knowledge and ability to schedule and manage events.

Security clearance eligibility required: Level 2 Secret which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.

Location:
