The role of the VPESE team is to drive education excellence through delivering a number of ambitious strategic education projects and workstream.About the roleThis is a 2 year fixed-term contract and is eligible to internal candidates ONLY. Please don’t apply if you are external to UCL.One of our flagship initiatives is the dynamic Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) Programme, which offers engaging, hands-on experiences such as industry team challenges and community hackathons. These activities promote collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving, and we aim to develop the programme into a sector-leading model of partnership and impact for students both now and in the future.Our primary goal is to ensure that all taught students have access to structured learning opportunities during Term 3, equipping them with essential skills, knowledge, and experiences for their future careers. This work is centrally coordinated in close collaboration with the Students’ Union, various UCL departments, and faculties to build wide engagement. We are now looking to establish a dedicated team to transition the programme from pilot phase to a fully embedded, annual initiative starting in the 2025–26 academic year.If you have any questions about the role or the application process, please contact Passant Khalifa (Senior Recruiter) at [email protected]About youThe ideal candidate will have experience in managing events, including tasks such as using booking systems, writing communications, and evaluating outcomes—ideally within a higher education context focused on taught students. They should have a strong understanding of the HE sector and what contributes to a positive student experience, along with experience working on student-focused projects and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including staff at various levels and students. The ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities is essential.Key skills include excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. The candidate should be proficient in IT tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and capable of working independently, managing a varied workload, and meeting tight deadlines. Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritise are crucial, as is the ability to analyse basic data sets such as participation rates.What we offerAs well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:
