This position will be part of the Lockheed Martin Greenville Site Operations (GSO) F-16 Flight line Team, supporting Depot Level Maintenance at Greenville, South Carolina. Responsible for creating work assignments to assigned personnel to accomplish incoming and outgoing flight operations, follow on depot level maintenance and routine trouble shooting. Candidate will be responsible for Flightline related maintenance to include launch, recovery, preflight/thru flight/Basic Post Flight inspections, ground handling, engine runs, operational checkouts, and servicing as well as routine troubleshooting, repair and general maintenance of aircraft. This position will serve as a subject matter expert of Flightline related maintenance and troubleshooting. Candidate will be responsible for aircraft work document reviews for accuracy and completeness prior to final submission to quality. Coordinate cross functional logistics requirements to acquire material and parts to complete assigned work. Works directly with Liaison Engineering and Planning to document and resolve technical issues.

The candidate will be required to:

  • Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
  • Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, and balance.
  • Preform repetitive movements and work overhead.
  • Work on a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
  • Read and speak English.

Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to loud noises and vibration.

The candidate will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places and outside weather.

*SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Security Clearance is not required prior to starting position. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have at least 6 years of related aircraft production, overhaul, or modification experience on various aircraft systems such as landing gear, flight controls, disassembly, re-assembly, rigging or aircraft ground operations.

Candidate must have prior leadership experience.

Experience with aircraft repair, modification, or trouble shooting.

Experience with aircraft ground handling and test equipment.

Previous flight line experience is required.

Desired skills

F-16 Crew Chief or Avionics Experience USAF 7 Level or equivalent

Current or previous F-16 Engine Run Qualification

F-16 Mod or Depot Experience

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
