POSITION: Faculty Assistant, Administrative
REPORTS TO: Faculty Assistant Supervisor
STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Onsite
RANGE: $21.50 – $23.80

Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
- Experience in Higher Education
- Associate degree, or 7+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Canvas, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader and Outlook
- Must be skilled in multitasking, prioritizing workload

Duties:
- Assist with Faculty: class work – typing class notes, organizing and xeroxing materials for class, prepare seating charts, index cards, tents cards, post numerous webcourse class assignments, materials and announcements, prepare emails, correspondences, memorandums (internal and external), convert documents from PDF to WORD and WORD to PDF. Administer/proctor exams, print out, log in, and keep track of exams for students to review. Proof and review exams per Professor request. Prepare model answer of exam, send grades to registrar. Assist with in preparation of PowerPoint/TurningPoint slide presentations. Set up AV requests, reserve rooms for conferences or seminars. Extensive contact with students; light scholarly work – type/edit articles and books, update Professor Bio/Publication on BLS Connect, prepare letters for mailing of reprints and maintaining distribution list; additional assistance – ordering and maintaining classroom and office supplies, file old exams, preparing and/or distributing clerkship letters both in hard copy form and electronically, prepare reimbursement memos (internal and external) along with organizing receipts.
- Canvas and BLS Connect – maintain class page, post announcements, assignments, share documents, discussion boards, email students, prepare seating charts, index cards, tents cards, Knowledge of Canvas and its resources.
- Canvas/Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw– maintain class page, post information, obtaining information and updates, including correspondence with representatives and library staff.
- Assist assigned Faculty with the various committees that they are either Chair of or member. Including scheduling meeting times, reserving room, copying materials and keeping stats.
- Assists on Committees, Fellowship, Summer Abroad and Competition Programs – these committees are not necessarily chaired by Faculty members they “work” for.
- Organize and keep a record of assigned Faculty members’ attendance Faculty members’ attendance for each semester in accordance with the ABA. Notify Dean of Students if student exceeds allowed absences.
- Assist colleagues work surplus as well as temporary coverage for vacationing Faculty Assistants.
Note: This role is not for a teaching assistant or legal assistant position; it is an administrative position
This is a non-exempt position, it is generally an in-person position, unless otherwise agreed to by the Dean and the Faculty Assistant Supervisor. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 35 hours/week, with an hour meal period.
